FAQs

When will salmon be available?

We fish for wild Chinook and Coho from May through September. After each trip, we quickly process, blast‑freeze, and package the catch. Availability emails go out as soon as the fish is ready. Sign up to be notified—you’ll get first pick before we sell out.

How is your salmon handled and frozen?

We bleed, clean, and blast‑freeze each fish within hours of catch. Blast freezing uses extremely low temperatures and high‑velocity air, so ice crystals remain tiny and the flesh retains its natural texture and nutrients. This method minimizes bacteria, producing salmon that rivals the taste of fresh.

What makes your salmon different from store‑bought frozen fish?

Unlike mass‑produced seafood, we control every step—from hooking each fish by hand to packaging and shipping it ourselves. There’s no middleman or long distribution chain. Quick blast freezing preserves color, flavor, and omega‑3s, so you’re getting a premium product direct from the source.

Where do you deliver?

We ship blast‑frozen salmon nationwide via overnight or 2‑day shipping. Local pickups in Seattle or regional deliveries may be available—contact us or check our Dawn Patrol email updates for details.

How do I prepare blast‑frozen salmon?

Thaw fillets slowly in the refrigerator overnight, or speed‑thaw by sealing in a waterproof bag and submerging in cold water. Cook using your favorite method—grilled, baked, pan‑seared, or smoked. We share recipe ideas on our blog!

Why do I need to join the waitlist?

We’re a small operation. Each catch is limited, and once the fish are gone, there’s no restock until our next trip. Dawn Patrol subscribers get early access and special offers.
